Rural Revival Veterans Ride is May 16

The Johnson County Trail Town Committee, First Frontier Appalachian Trails and Rural Revival Project are hosting a Rural Revival Veterans Ride on Friday, May 16, beginning at 6 p.m., in Van Lear, to raise awareness of veteran causes. The ride will travel to the First Frontier Appalachian Trails hills and hollows in Martin County.

Local funds raised will go the the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 18, who serves Johnson, Floyd and Martin counties.

FFAT permits will be sold at the trails entrance.

As part of this experience, we have multiple off-road organizations across Eastern Kentucky who are offering a seat for a vet for the ride. If you are a veteran and want to join this ride with Oliver Anthony and don’t have a ride, we will help you have a seat and enjoy this experience!

Here is the link to register for the ride, https:gforms.app/jMBpDrm, or check out the Frontier Appalachian Trails Facebook page.

Due to the cancellation of the Rural Revival Project Street Festival Series that was scheduled in Inez, Oliver Anthony Music will have a free concert on Saturday, May 17, to highlight the plight of rural Appalachia that includes but is certainly not limited to flood and economic struggle. His hope is also to inspire and engage our region in lifting one another which he is certainly gifted in doing! As part of these revival activities, he is always looking to remember and support our veterans, the real hero’s of America.
