LOUISA — A man and a female juvenile were taken into custody Sunday following a multi-county police chase initiated from a home invasion in Johnson County.

Jarod Hall, 19, is charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police in a motor vehicle; receiving stolen property $1,000 or more but less than $10,000; first-degree wanton endangerment; failure to appear; and other traffic-related offenses.

The female juvenile was charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police in a motor vehicle and theft by unlawful taking an auto, $1,000 or more but under $10,000. She was transported to the Boyd County Juvenile Detention Center.

According to a press release issued by the Kentucky State Police Post 14, troopers were requested to assist the Louisa Police Department in regard to a vehicle they were in pursuit of that was involved in a home invasion in Johnson County.

Troopers began assisting the Louisa Police Department at the U.S. 23 bridge crossing over I-64, the release said, and the pursuit continued through Ashland, at which point the Ashland Police Department attempted to deploy tire deflation devices but was unsuccessful.

As the vehicle entered Greenup County, the Russell Police Department successfully deployed tire deflation devices.

Once entering into Greenup County, troopers took over the pursuit. While the vehicle continued to travel north on U.S. 23, it went into the wrong lane of travel, at which point legal intervention was approved to place the vehicle out of service, the release said.

After the vehicle was out of service, Hall and the juvenile passenger were ordered out of the vehicle, but both of them failed to comply and troopers began negotiations to resolve the situation peacefully, the release said.

Three hours later, Hall and the juvenile exited the vehicle and were taken into custody without incident.

The case remains under investigation by KSP.
