Lawrence County reports one new case

LOUISA — Lawrence County reported one new coronavirus case in the last week while no new cases were recorded in Johnson, Floyd and Martin counties. The new Lawrence County case, which was announced Wednesday, June 3, is isolated at home, and the risk to the community is low, according to the Lawrence County Health Department. The new positive case brings Lawrence County’s total to five since tracking began, with two of the patients recovered, the health department said. As of Monday, 526 COVID-19 tests had been performed in the county, with 508 negative results and 13 pending results. The total number of coronavirus cases remain at four in Johnson County, 17 in Floyd County and three in Martin County, as of press time Tuesday. Gov. Andy Beshear said Monday evening that there were at least 11,476 cases statewide, with 70 new cases confirmed Sunday and 120 Monday. The total number of coronavirus-related deaths in Kentucky stands at 472, with two deaths reported this week.
