Four Michigan men arrested in Louisa

LOUISA —The Louisa Police Department arrested four Michigan men Friday on charges of organized crime.

Ziontay K. Black, 20; Darius M. Givens, 20; Marquis J. Thomas, 20; and Christopher Wine, 20, all of Flint, Mich., are each charged with receiving stolen property $10,000 or more, engaging in organized crime and fugitive from another state-warrant required.

According to a release issued by Louisa Police Chief Greg Fugitt, the police department received information from the Pikeville Police Department involving an investigation it was conducting into individuals fraudulently obtaining electronic merchandise and cash from local Walmart stores fraudulently.

Information was received that they were at the Louisa Walmart trying to return stolen merchandise for cash, the release said, and officers responded and located the vehicle the suspects were using, the release said.

During a traffic stop, officers discovered numerous electronic items that had been fraudulently obtained, the release said.

All four men were taken into custody and transported to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Johnson County.

The case is under investigation by Sgt. Steven Wilburn in conjunction with the Pikeville Police Department.
