Floyd Co. Woman Dies in House Fire

DAVID — A Floyd County woman died in a house fire over the weekend after fire broke out in her mobile home.

Dianne Price, 63, of David died as a result of her injuries.

Multiple fire departments received a call to attend the mobile home fire along Willow Valley Road and Kentucky State Police rushed to the scene to provide assistance.

Upon arrival emergency personnel discovered the body of Dianne Price, inside the engulfed home. Her remains were sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.

Authorities have said that they suspect no foul play but they have yet to determine the cause of the fire and they will continue to investigate.

Price is survived by her son, Franklin Price of Pikeville; Grandchildren; Brother, Ronnie Sheperd of Grundy, Virginia; Sisters, Patricia Bays of Blue River and Connie Johnson of Prestonsburg.

Funeral Services were held Jan. 20, at 1 p.m. at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home in Martin, with Bob Shepherd officiating. Burial followed at Slone Cemetery in Blue River.
