Fifteen indicted in Johnson County

PAINTSVILLE —Fifteen true bills were issued in Johnson Circuit Court on Oct. 20.

•Tyler Wagoner, 26, of Meally, is charged with third-degree burglary; theft by unlawful taking over $1,000 and second-degree persistent felony offender.

On or before July 29, Wagoner allegedly entered an outbuilding owned by Dokota Wagoner, in Sitka, with the intent to commit a crime; he took a motorcycle owned by Jacob Obryan with an amount of the loss exceeding $1,000 and he is a previously convicted felon.

• Dena Melvin, 43, of Nippa, is charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance; operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs and no operator’s license.

On July 31, Melvin was allegedly in possession of methamphetamine; was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or other substances that impair a driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle and was in physical control of a motor vehicle operating upon a Kentucky roadway without being in possession of an operator’s license.

•Kyle Davidson, 40, of South Point, OH., is charged with three counts of first-degree possession of a controlled substance; third-degree assault of a police officer; second-degree fleeing or evading police on foot; possession/use of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

On or before Sept. 17, Davidson was allegedly in possession of methamphetamine, fentanyl and heroin; he attempted to cause physical injury to Johnson County Sheriff’s Deputy Jeff Castle while the officer was working in his official capacity; he disobeyed commands to stop by Johnson County Sheriff’s Deputy, Jeff Castle, who had reasonable suspicion that Davidson had committed a crime; he was in possession of two sets of digital scales and marijuana.

•Katilyn Shabazz, 27, of Ulysses, is charged with two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment; first-degree possession of a controlled substance and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

On Aug. 6, Shabazz allegedly engaged in conduct that creates substantial danger of death or serious physical injury to two minor children; she was in possession of methamphetamine and she was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or other substances that impair a driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle.

•William Ramey, 47, of Boonescamp and Charles E. Hall, 50, of Paintsville, are both charged with unlawful acts relating to acquiring metals/complicity and first-degree persistent felony offender.

On from on or before Sept. 28, Ramey and Hall, acting alone or in complicity with each other allegedly acquired metals by intentionally and without permission, cut, mutilated, defaced, or injured any fixtures or improvements owned and operated by AT&T for the purpose of obtaining any restricted metal, nonferrous metal, or ferrous metal as defined in KRS 433.900 with a total loss of $6,169, and both are previously convicted felons.

•Stacy L. Prater, 46, of Thealka, is charged in two separate indictments. In the first indictment, Prater is charged with first-degree bail jumping.

On or before Oct. 18, Prater allegedly, after having been released from custody by the court upon the condition that he will subsequently appear at a specified time and place in connection with a felony charge of 23-F-00136, failed to appear at that time and place.

In the second indictment, Prater is charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance and operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license.

On or before July 22, Prater was allegedly in possession of methamphetamine and she was operating a motor vehicle while her operator’s license had been suspended or revoked.

•Dustin Crum, 31, of Hager Hill, is charged with first-degree assault; first-degree persistent felony offender; operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs and first-degree wanton endangerment.

On or about Sept. 29, Crum allegedly with extreme indifference to human life, caused serious physical injury to another person by means of a dangerous instrument, namely Michael Burleson or Williamsport; he’s a previously convicted felon ; he was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or another substance that impair a driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle and he engaged in conduct which created a substantial danger of death or serious physical injury to another person, namely Matthew Burleson.

•Katelyn L. Allen, 31, of Lexington, and Earl Layne, 34, of Clay City, are charged with receiving stolen property over $1,000/complicity. Allen is additionally charged with no tail lamps.

On or before July 20, Allen and Layne acting alone or in complicity with each other were allegedly in possession of two electric guitars with a total value of $1,700, an amplifier valued at $60, two cell phones valued at $1,070, a MIG welder valued at $600, an oscillating saw valued at $100, a hot spot box valued at $155 and the victim’s wallet containing $500 in cash, stolen from Clinton Castle of Thealka with a total value of the stolen items exceeding $1,000.

Allen was in physical control of a motor vehicle operating upon a Kentucky roadway without proper tail lamps.

•Boyd Kimbler, 54, of Paintsville, is charged in two indictments. In the first indictment, he is charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance; second-degree possession of a controlled substance and possess/use drug paraphernalia.

On or abut Nov. 23, 2022, Kimbler was allegedly in possession of methamphetamine, five suboxone strips and an altered glass pipe.

In the second indictment, Kimbler is charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

On or before Nov. 23, 2022, Kimbler was allegedly in possession of a F.LLl pietta brand .44 caliber pistol and Connecticut Valley Arms .50 caliber rifle, after having been previously convicted of a felony 03-CR-00067.

•Tracy B. Mollette, 51, of Paintsville, is charged with second-degree assault; second-degree fleeing or evading police on foot and public intoxication.

On or before July 2, Mollette allegedly intentionally assaulted Travis Mollette, causing physical injury while armed with a dangerous instrument or deadly instrument; he disobeyed commands and signs to stop by Paintsville Police Officer, Brian Runyon, who had reasonable suspicion that Mollette had committed a crime and he was manifestly under the influence of a controlled substance in a public setting.

•Justin Matthew Mollette, 34, of Inez, is charged with theft by unlawful taking and first-degree criminal mischief.

On or about Aug. 23, Mollette allegedly took $1,750, in value of fiber optic cable belonging to Foothills Communications with the intent to deprive Foothills Communications of the $1,750 in fiber optic cable and damaged fiber optic cable owned by Foothills Communications causing a loss of $12,871 to Foothills Communications, a loss of service to 82 customers for approximately nine hours and disrupted the usage of the fiber optic lines to 16 cell phone towers leading to the loss of service in the Lowmansville, Louisa, Fallsburg, Blaine and Martin County areas.
