Eight indicted by Martin County Grand Jury

INEZ — Martin County Grand Jury returned nine indictments last week.

Named in the true bills were:

James Dewey, 22, Mary Workman, 45, and Stevie Hackney, 58, all of Lovely, charged with first-degree trafficking, fentanyl, firearm enhancement/complicity; first-degree trafficking, oxycodone, greater than 10 dosage units, firearm enhancement/complicity; first-degree trafficking, methamphetamine, greater than two grams, firearm enhancement/complicity; second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, firearm enhancement/complicity and third-degree trafficking, greater than 20 dosage units, firearm enhancement/complicity.

According to the indictment, James, Workman and Hackney, acting alone or in complicity with each other, allegedly possessed approximately 54.377 grams of fentanyl, oxycodone, methamphetamine, 147 dosage units of suboxone, 428 dosage units of gabapentin, digital scales and $7,392 in cash, with the intent to traffic while in possession of a Cobra brand .22-caliber handgun and a Winchester brand .22-caliber rifle on Oct. 25, 2020.

Hackney is also indicted separately for possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon for allegedly possessing a .22-caliber Cobra brand handgun on the same date after having been previously convicted of a felony in Pike Circuit Court.

Robert Drenning, 44, of Inez, charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance greater than two grams of methamphetamine and possession/use of drug paraphernalia for allegedly possessing methamphetamine packaged into six individual baggies with the intent to traffic and possessing a glass pipe on Oct. 31, 2020.

William Marcum, 24, of Williamson, W.Va., charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance for allegedly possessing fentanyl on Oct. 23, 2020.

Minnie Huhn, 58, of Debord, charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, for allegedly possessing the drug on Jan. 13.

Cheryl Delong, 39, of Tomahawk, charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, for allegedly possessing the drug on Jan. 7.

Joseph Hailee, 26, of Tomahawk, charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, for allegedly possessing the drug on Jan. 20.
