GRETHEL — The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office asked for the public’s help Saturday on Facebook in identifying two men who were caught on camera stealing a pull trailer at a residence in Grethel.
But the trailer was returned the next day after the owner’s son posted a message that his father would press charges unless it was returned.
The theft occurred earlier in the week, but the owner realized it was missing Saturday and rewound the surveillance cameras, discovering the thieves were clearly caught on video, the release said.
The release said the thieves were driving a black Toyota Tacoma pickup truck, and some of the neighbors said they had seen that vehicle several times prior to the theft and believed the truck is from the Grethel area, the release said.
The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office then sought the public’s help, and the owner’s son posted on Facebook that they knew who stole the trailer and
“Dad will press charges unless the trailer is back here by in the morning.”
The son later updated the post and said the trailer “miraculously showed back up this morning.”
