ARH to offer sports physicals at Paintsville High School July 11-12

PAINTSVILLE — ARH will offer sports physicals at Paintsville High School July 11-12 starting at 12:30 p.m.

The sports physicals will be available for all high school and middle school student-athletes. Parent consent is required.

Currently, student-athletes are sidelined via the Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) Dead Period.

The KHSAA Dead Period was adopted 20-plus years ago by member schools in response to concerns about year-round play and practice and parental and coaching desire for some down time from interscholastic play. Member schools adopted the period of June 25-July 9 as a time of inactivity.

High school fall sports teams are scheduled to open preseason practice following the conclusion of the KHSAA Dead Period.
