Bulldogs’ 2022 schedule finalized

LOUISA — Lawrence County’s schedule for the 2022 high school football season has been finalized and released.

The Bulldogs are scheduled to kick off the 2022 high school football season at Harrison County on Friday, Aug. 19.

Lawrence County is slated to host Greenup County for a home opener on Friday, Sept. 2.

The Bulldogs have additional away games scheduled versus Russell (Sept. 9), Magoffin County (Sept. 16), East Carter (Sept. 23), Boyd County (Sept. 30) and Floyd Central (Oct. 21).

Lawrence County has other home games scheduled versus Pike County Central (Oct. 7), Belfry (Oct. 14) and Raceland (Oct. 14).

The Bulldogs concluded the 2021 high school football season 8-4, outscoring opponents 376-174.

Lawrence County reached the second round of the 2021 Class 3A State Playoffs, pushing district rival Belfry during the high school football postseason. Eventual state champion Belfry held on to beat Lawrence County 21-14 in the second round of the 2021 Class 3A State Playoffs.

The Bulldogs will open preseason practice after the conclusion of the KHSAA Dead Period in July.

Lawrence County competes in Class 3A, District 8, along with Belfry, Floyd Central, Magoffin County and Pike County Central.
