Tigers to host Pikeville for Homecoming

PAINTSVILLE — Paintsville is slated to host Pikeville for its Homecoming game in the 2024 high school football season Friday, Oct. 18.

The Tigers and Panthers are district rivals. Both Paintsville and Pikeville compete in Class 1A, District 8.

Paintsville compiled a 6-6 record in the 2023 high school football season. The Tigers reached the second round of the 2023 Class 1A Playoffs.

Pikeville is the reigning Class 1A champion. The Panthers put together a 12-2 record in the 2023 high school football season. Pikeville shut out Raceland 21-0 in the 2023 Class 1A title game.

When the two teams met during the 2023 high school football season, Pikeville pulled away to defeat Paintsville 46-7.

Paintsville’s annual Homecoming Dance is set to be held on Saturday, Oct. 19.

Kickoff for the Paintsville-Pikeville game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
