Tigers shut out Pikeville 5-0

PIKEVILLE — Paintsville managed to shut out rival Pikeville 5-0 in a high school baseball game on Tuesday, May 10.
Connor Fugate and Zach Taylor combined to pitch a two-hitter for the Tigers. Fugate started on the mound and claimed the win. The Paintsville starter pitched six innings, allowing two hits and two walks while recording eight strikeouts.
Zach Taylor closed out the game on the mound for Paintsville, allowing one walk while recording three strikeouts in the final inning.
Dylan Thompson took the loss on the mound for the Panthers. Thompson pitched four innings, allowing three runs on six hits while recording nine strikeouts.
Isaac Duty closed out the game on the mound for the Panthers. Duty pitched the last three innings for Pikeville, allowing two runs on three hits and one walk while recording four strikeouts.
Harris Phelps and Baron Ratliff paced Paintsville at the plate, delivering two hits apiece. Contributing offensively for the Tigers in the shutout win, Taylor, Austin Allen, Grayson Peters, Gunner Collins and Ashton Miller added one hit apiece.
Collins homered while Phelps and Ratliff each tripled.
Taylor, Phelps, Ratliff and Collins each drove in one run.
Producing as part of a limited offensive effort, Bradyn Hall and Tate Walters recorded one hit apiece for the Panthers.
