PAINTSVILLE — Paintsville shut out Pike County Central 8-0 in a 57th District boys’ soccer match on Tuesday, Aug. 20.

Bryan Hernandez scored five goals and dished out one assist to lead Paintsville to the win.

Following Hernandez in Paintsville’s offensive attack, Michael Stafford scored one goal and dealt out four assists.

Chipping in offensively for Paintsville, Axel Neri and Jaydon Vanhoose netted one goal apiece.

Defensively for Paintsville, Vanhoose and Cedric Stewart split time at goalkeeper during the district match. Stewart recorded one save for the Tigers.

Pikeville 5, Paintsville 1: Pikeville pulled away to defeat visiting Paintsville 5-1 in a 57th District boys’ soccer match on Saturday, Aug. 24.

Matthew Mullins (one goal, two assists), Nathan Newsome (one goal, one assist), Jackson Lucas (one goal), Lincoln Parsons (one goal) and William Coleman (one goal) accounted for Pikeville’s offense in the matchup.

Defensively for Pikeville, goalkeeper Will Coleman held Paintsville to one goal and recorded three saves.

Paintsville avoided a shutout when Wade Bricken scored off an assist from Michael Stafford.

Defensively for Paintsville, goalkeeper Jaydon Vanhoose recorded 11 saves while allowing five goals.
