Special Olympic State Competition

The Johnson County Special Olympics Eagles traveled to Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond to compete in the Special Olympics state competition. Team members brought home four four gold medals, five silver medals, five bronze medals, three fourth-place ribbons, four fifth-place ribbons and two sixth-place ribbons. Team members also collected a gold medal in the 800-meter walk; two gold medals and one fourth-place ribbon in the 400-meter walk; a bronze medal in the 200-meter dash; a bronze medal, two fourth-place ribbons and a sixth-place ribbon in the 100-meter walk; two silver medals, a bronze medal and a fourth-place ribbon in the100-meter dash; two silver medals and a fourth-place ribbon in the 50-meter walk; two gold medals, one silver medal, three fourth-place ribbons and a sixth-place ribbon in the 50-meter dash; and a silver
