Russell signs with Bowling Green
PAINTSVILLE – Johnson Central High School senior tight end Zach Russell made his college choice official on Thursday, signing with the Bowling Green State University football program.
As a junior, Russell helped perennial state title contender Johnson Central capture the 2019 Class 4A championship.
Russell contributed for Johnson Central throughout his four-year high school football career. He played in four consecutive KHSAA Class 4A title games.
Bowling Green competes in the Mid-American Conference (MAC).
Russell held additional offers from Akron, Army, Austin Peay, Coastal Carolina, Eastern Kentucky, Eastern Michigan, Illinois State, Indiana State, Murray State, Ohio, Richmond, Southeast Missouri State, Southern Illinois, Western Michigan and Yale.
The Johnson Central senior is headed to a tradition-rich college football program. Bowling Green is a 12-time MAC Champion.
