Preece named to OVC All-Freshman Team

MOREHEAD - Johnson Central High School graduate Ryley Preece (Morehead State University) has been named to the OVC All-Freshman Team.

Preece headed into the postseason with a .324 batting average. Prior to the postseason, Preece slugged five home runs and hit seven doubles while recording 21 runs batted in.

Preece was named the OVC Player of the Week following an eight-hit weekend in a series win at Austin Peay. Four of his five homers came that weekend alone when he recorded nine runs bated in.

Preece ranks third on the team with 13 multi-hit games and had seven multi-RBI outings.

Prior to beginning his college career at Morehead State University, Preece starred in both baseball and football at Johnson Central High School. From his quarterback position, Preece led Johnson Central to the 2019 KHSAA Class 4A state football title.
