Paintsville to hold free youth football camp Aug. 3

PAINTSVILLE — Paintsville will hold a free youth football camp on Tuesday, Aug. 3.

The camp is open to players entering grades K-8 and will be split into two sessions.

K-4 registration is scheduled for 7 a.m. The K-4 session of the camp is slated for 8 a.m.-Noon.

The 5-8 registration is scheduled for 3 p.m. The 5-8 session of the camp is slated for 4 p.m.-8 p.m.

The camp will be under the direction of first-year Paintsville head coach Trevor Hoskins and his coaching staff.

Hoskins made the move to Paintsville from the University of Pikeville, where he was quarterbacks coach.

Beginning his coaching career, Hoskins joined the Bears’ coaching staff as a graduate assistant in 2013 and 2014 after completing his playing career in 2012.

Beginning in 2017, Hoskins worked at D1 Training in Knoxville where he trained quarterbacks. The facility is ranked as one of the top 30 gyms in America by Men’s Health and has produced some of the nation's top talent at all age levels.

Prior to the stop in Knoxville, Hoskins was the offensive coordinator at Middlesboro High School, where he also graduated, for the 2015 and 2016 seasons.

Fundamentals will be taught throughout the Paintsville-hosted youth football camp.
