Paintsville Football Media Day set for Aug. 5

PAINTSVILLE — Paintsville Football Media Day is set to be held at Walter Brugh Stadium/Memorial Field at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 5.Former state champion Paintsville opened preseason practice earlier in the month, returning to the gridiron after the conclusion of the KHSAA Dead Period. Trevor Hoskins is preparing to enter his second season as the Tigers’ head coach. Under Hoskins’ direction, Paintsville compiled a 6-6 record in the 2021 high school football season.Paintsville’s 2021 season ended following a loss to Class 1A, District 6 rival Raceland in the second round of the KHSAA Class 1A Playoffs.Several experienced players are back on the gridiron for 2020 KHSAA Class 1A State Champion Paintsville. The Tigers’ 2022 schedule includes games versus Floyd Central, Beechwood, Pikeville, Somerset, Knox Central, Perry County Central, Fairview, Betsy Layne, Raceland and Pike County Central. Paintsville is scheduled to visit Floyd Central for its season opener on Friday, Aug. 19. Kickoff for the Paintsville-Floyd Central football game is slated for 7:30 p.m. at Walter Brugh Stadium/Memorial Field.
