Paintsville cheerleading team excels at UCA Cheer Camp

LEXINGTON — The Paintsville High School cheerleading squad excelled at the UCA Cheer Camp in late-July, placing fifth overall in the Large Varsity Division.

The UCA Cheer Camp was held on the University of Kentucky’s campus.

The Paintsville cheerleading team was also named the Most Improved Squad. Out of 25 teams, the PHS cheer squad received one of five spirit sticks that were given out only on night one.

The PHS cheer team received blue ribbons for sideline/cheer and camp routine.

PHS cheerleaders Katie Harlow, Bentley Smith, Kennedy Horn and Kennedy Conley were chosen as All Americans following tryouts.

In addition, PHS cheerleaders Micah Adams, Kennedy Conley and Maisie Ward were recognized during the UCA Cheer Camp.
