PHILADELPHIA - Lawrence County native Jason Michael has left the Indianapolis Colts to become tight ends coach for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Michael spent two seasons as tight ends coach for the Indianapolis Colts.

Following a stint with the Indianapolis Colts, Nick Sirianni has been named the new head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles.

In addition to the Indianapolis Colts, Michael has served as an assistant coach with the Arizona Cardinals, Tennessee Titans, San Diego Chargers, San Francisco 49ers, New York Jets and Oakland Raiders.

After leading Lawrence County to a region championship in high school, Michael played quarterback at Western Kentucky University. He transferred to Western Kentucky from Army. Michael was the quarterback of the 2002 Division I-AA National Championship team. He was named the WKU Male Athlete of the Year in 2003.

Michael graduated from Western Kentucky with a degree in civil engineering technology after compiling a 4.0 GPA. He was named a I-AA Athletic Directors Academic All-Star and Verizon Academic All-District IV honoree.

In 2003, Michael started his coaching career as a graduate assistant for the University of Tennessee football team, assisting with the secondary and special teams for two seasons.

Michael was hired as a video assistant and offensive quality control coach for the Oakland Raiders in 2005, making his first stop in the NFL.
