Martin County's volleyball schedule includes two events

INEZ — The Martin County volleyball team's 2020 schedule will include a pair of events.
The Lady Cardinals are among the high school volleyball squads in the field for the Champions of the Mountains Classic. An annual high school volleyball event, the Champions of the Mountains Classic is scheduled to be played at the University of Pikeville and Pikeville and Pike County Central high schools. Several area high school volleyball teams will compete in the Champions of the Mountains Classic.
Martin County is slated to compete in the Rocky Top Classic in Sevierville, Tenn., Sept.11-12. The Rocky Top Classic will include talented high school volleyball teams from multiple states. A much-improved high school team, Martin County advanced to the 2019 15th Region Volleyball Tournament. After a 57th District runner-up finish and an appearance in the 15th Region Volleyball Tournament, Martin County ended the 2019 season 23-12. In 2019, Martin County featured some of the 15th Region's most productive volleyball players. The Lady Cardinals will open the 2020 high school volleyball season in August. Martin County is due to host former 15th Region champion Betsy Layne in a season opener on Aug. 17.
