Six 15th Region hoops teams to compete in Jenny Wiley Tip-Off Classic

PRESTONSBURG — Six 15th Region teams will open the 2020-21 girls' high school basketball season in the Jenny Wiley Tip-Off Classic at the Prestonsburg Fieldhouse on Monday, Nov. 23.
Three of the four 58th District girls' basketball teams are set to play in the Prestonsburg-hosted hoops event. Prestonsburg, Floyd Central, Betsy Layne, Phelps, East Ridge and Pike County Central will open the 2020-21 girls' high school basketball season in the Jenny Wiley Tip-Off Classic.
Floyd Central headlines the field for the early-season girls' high school basketball event. The Lady Jaguars reached the 15th Region Girls' Basketball Tournament Semifinals in March, ending the 2019-20 season 20-9. Girls' high school basketball teams from throughout the state are poised to open preseason practice in October. Locally, Pikeville is the reigning 15th Region girls' basketball champion.
