Lawrence County shuts out Shelby Valley 10-0

LOUISA — Winning via the KHSAA Mercy Rule, Lawrence County shut out visiting Shelby Valley 10-0 in a 58th District girls’ soccer match on Monday, Sept. 19.

Five players found the net for Lawrence County during the district match.

Lawrence County took control of the district match early, making Shelby Valley face a deficit throughout the game.

Leandra Curnutte scored four goals to lead Lawrence County to the shutout win.

Following Curnutte in scoring for Lawrence County, Brylee Blair netted three goals.

Aiding Lawrence County’s offensive attack, Molly McClanahan, Laylen Hopson and Jalyn Copley added one goal apiece.

Blair, Copley, Camberleigh Maxi-Stepp and Jailyn Thompson recorded one assist apiece for the Bulldogs.

Goalkeeper Preslyn Miller recorded a shutout for Lawrence County in the district match. Miller tallied two saves for the Bulldogs.

Both Lawrence County and Shelby Valley will compete in the 58th District Girls’ Soccer Tournament in early-October.
