LOUISA — Notching its third straight win, Lawrence County pulled away to defeat Morgan County 50-34 on Tuesday, Feb. 20.

Lawrence County shot 48.8 percent (20-of-41) from the field. The Bulldogs shot 33.3 percent (five-of-15) from three-point range.

Lawrence County made five of 12 free throw attempts.

Nearly recording a double-double, Sophie Adkins scored 15 points and hauled down nine rebounds to lead Lawrence County to the win.

Finishing directly behind Adkins in scoring for Lawrence County, Abby Nelson posted 14 points.

Contributing to the win, Leandra Curnutte (eight points), Jada Patton (four points), Abby Maynard (three points), Madison Artrip (three points) and Kaison Ward (three points) provided Lawrence County’s additional scoring.

Lawrence County defeated Morgan County for the second time in the 2023-24 girls’ high school basketball season.
