LOUISA — Reigning 58th District champion Lawrence County is ranked fifth in The Cats' Pause Kentucky Basketball Yearbook Preseason 15th Region Girls' Basketball Poll.
Lawrence County is listed behind Floyd Central, Pikeville, Johnson Central and top-ranked Shelby Valley.
The Lady Bulldogs are ranked ahead of Martin County, Belfry, Paintsville, Prestonsburg and Jenkins.
Head coach Melinda Feltner guides the Lady Bulldogs.
Following an appearance in the 15th Region Girls' Basketball Tournament, Lawrence County ended the 2019-20 hoops season 19-14.
Lawrence County was set to resume preseason practice at the start of the week.
Leading scorer Kensley Feltner is among the players back for the Lady Bulldogs. A sophomore guard, Kensley Feltner averaged 22.1 points and 9.1 rebounds per game for Lawrence County during her freshman campaign. As a freshman, Kensley Feltner led Lawrence County in both scoring and rebounding.
