INEZ — Lawrence County shut out host Martin County 3-0 in a high school volleyball match on Monday, Oct. 3.

Pulling away to win convincingly, Lawrence County defeated Martin County 25-14, 25-6, 25-8.

Lawrence County and Martin County are former 57th District rivals.

Sophie Adkins led Lawrence County at the net, landing 12 kills for the Bulldogs. In addition to thriving at the net, Adkins recorded six digs for Lawrence County in the shutout win.

Along with Adkins, Timmy Ellis (8 kills, 6 digs, 8 service aces), Gracie Blevins (1 kill, 14 assists), Emma Collins (2 kills, 14 assists, 4 service aces), Ally Huffman (5 kills, 4 digs, 1 service ace), Laura Compton (6 digs) and Sara Shannon (3 kills) each contributed for Lawrence County in the shutout win.

Lawrence County claimed its second win over Martin County in the 2022 high school volleyball season.
