LEXINGTON — The Lawrence County 10U All-Stars captured the Cal Ripken Baseball state title on Saturday, July 8.

Lawrence County defeated Jessamine County 5-2 to win the state title.

Earlier in the state tournament, Lawrence County beat Whitley County 13-1 and blanked border rival Johnson County 15-0.

Lawrence County is set to represent Eastern Kentucky.

Following the win, Lawrence County advanced to the Ohio Valley Regional Tournament in Schererville, Indiana. The Ohio Valley Regional Tournament, which is scheduled to start on Thursday, July 13, includes teams from Eastern Kentucky, Western Kentucky, West Virginia, Ohio, Michigan, Northern Indiana, Southern Indiana, Northern Illinois, Southern Illinois and Wisconsin.

The Lawrence County 10U All-Stars are Ashby Lyons, Brayson Raines, Hayden Bowen, Dane Kitts, Lucas Osborne, Preston Spaulding, Noah Patton, Colton Anderson, Tucker Muncy, Easton Caudill, Silas Rose and Syd Woods.

The Lawrence County 10U All-Stars’ coaching staff consists of Dennis Bowen, Brandon Kitts and Tim Caudill.
