Lady Bulldogs finish runner-up in 2A, Section 8; Lawrence County advances to statewide tournament

LOUISA — Lawrence County finished runner-up in the 2A, Section 8 Girls’ Golf Tournament at StoneCrest Golf Course on Tuesday, Aug. 11.

Abby Runyon paced Lawrence County, shooting an 86 and qualifying for the 2A Girls’ Golf State Tournament.

Following Runyon, Lauren Sammons shot a 104 and placed sixth.

Behind Sammons, Aubrey Brady shot a 113 and finished eighth.

Rounding out Lawrence County’s group of four golfers, Lizzie Mynhier shot a 131 in her first tournament.  

Lawrence County continues to show improvement in the 2026 girls’ high school golf season.
