SALYERSVILLE — Johnson Central defeated Paintsville 11-1 in five innings in the 15th Region Softball Tournament title game at Magoffin County on Wednesday, May 21.
Keylee Blair pitched a complete game for Johnson Central and earned the win in the circle. Blair limited Paintsville to one run on one hit and recorded seven strikeouts.
Molly Music pitched a complete game for Paintsville and took the loss in the circle. Music posted three strikeouts.
Johnson Central scored 11 hits on nine runs. Helping her pitching cause, Blair led Johnson Central at the plate. Blair finished two-for-two with two doubles and four RBIs.
Along with Blair, Jadyn Estep (two hits, three RBIs), Kiley Hall (one hit, one RBI), Mia Estep (one hit, one RBI), Josie Dials (one hit), Leah Hall (one hit) and Mayson Delong (one hit) delivered at the plate in Johnson Central’s 10-run win.
Grier Collins (one hit) and Bentley Smith (one RBI) each produced at the plate for the Lady Tigers. Music crossed home plate to score Paintsville’s lone run.
Both Johnson Central and Paintsville advanced to the 15th Region Softball Tournament.
