PRESTONSBURG — Johnson Central shut out Pike County Central 2-0 in the semifinals of the 15th Region Baseball Tournament at StoneCrest on Monday, May 22.

Hunter Blevins pitched a four-hit shutout to lead Johnson Central to the victory. Claiming the win on the mound, Blevins recorded eight strikeouts.

Johnson Central plated two runs on only two hits. Logan Morrow and Cole Ward provided one hit apiece for the Golden Eagles. Delivering an extra-base hit for perennial 15th Region title contender Johnson Central, Morrow doubled.

Cameron Kelsey and Ethan McCarty each scored one run for the Golden Eagles.

Johnson Central 10, Floyd Central 4: Johnson Central topped Floyd Central 10-4 in the opening round of the 15th Region Baseball Tournament at StoneCrest on Sunday, May 21.

Dawson Montgomery started on the mound for Johnson Central and claimed the win. Montgomery pitched four scoreless innings, recording strikeouts.

Contributing on the mound for Johnson Central, Ethan McCarty and Kyle Rose each pitched in relief.

Johnson Central scored 10 runs on 12 hits. McCarty (one hit), Caleb Callaham (two hits, two RBIs), Cameron Kelsey (two hits), Cole Ward (two hits), Brock Butcher (one hit, two RBIs), Chase Preece (one hit, one RBI), Chase Preece (one hit, one RBI), Brayden Shepherd (one hit), Boston Crace (one hit), Logan Morrow (one hit) and Gavin Crum (one RBI) were each productive at the plate for Johnson Central in its win.
