The Fort Gay High School Alumni Association has begun preparations for the 9th annual Joe Damron Memorial Golf Tournament to be held on Friday, Sept. 2, at the Eagle Ridge Golf Course, at Yatesville Lake, 1410 Golf Course Road, off Rt. 32, West of Louisa.
According to Tim Preston, Golf Chairman, “This is the 23rd year of “Giving something back” to our community and we have depended on people and businesses like you to afford us the opportunity to help students at Tolsia High School further their education at Marshall University through the FGHS Memorial Scholarship Fund.” “We deeply appreciate your past support and are asking that you help us once again,” he continued.
“There have been over 30 scholarships awarded and more than $200,000 in funding, and we are planning to expand the scholarship to include more students and broader areas of study. This year we awarded two scholarships which makes six total we are currently supporting,” he said.
Golf Hole sponsorships are $100, $500, $1,000 and $2,500 (which includes the 4-person golf fee.) Your kindness and generosity is greatly appreciated. Checks should be made out to: FGHS Alumni Association, P.O. Box 605, Fort Gay, WV 25514.
