Golden Eagles roll past Rowan County 48-6

PAINTSVILLE — Johnson Central rolled past Rowan County 48-6 in a Class 4A, District 6 game at Coach Jim Matney Field on Friday, Oct. 11.
Following the win, Johnson Central improved to 6-2 overall and 2-0 in Class 4A, District 6.
Rowan County dropped to 2-5 overall and 0-2 in Class 4A, District 6 after suffering the loss.
Continuing to thrive on the ground, Johnson Central rushed 23 times for 347 yards and six touchdowns.
Zack McCoart led Johnson Central, rushing seven times for 148 yards and three touchdowns.
Contributing on the ground, Brennon Daniels, Logan Music and Logan Morrow each added one rushing touchdown for the Golden Eagles.
Producing through the air in Johnson Central’s convincing victory, quarterback Austin Slone completed a 13-yard touchdown pass to tight end Hunter Howard.
Defensively for Johnson Central, Caleb Barnes and Dylan Lemaster recorded seven tackles apiece.
Bryson Music and Seth Davis added six tackles apiece for the Golden Eagles. Davis recorded two sacks while Bryson Music added one sack.
Delivering a turnover for Johnson Central, Christian Barnes supplied an interception.
Braxton Terry paced Johnson Central on special teams, making four of six PAT attempts.
Johnson Central is scheduled to host Greenup County for another Class 4A, District 6 game at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18.
