LOUISA — Johnson Central is ranked first in the Preseason 15th Region Boys’ Basketball Rankings.
An experienced group of players is back for Johnson Central, which finished 15-11 in the 2024-25 boys’ high school basketball season.
Following Johnson Central, defending 15th Region boys’ basketball champion Lawrence County is ranked second. Lawrence County defeated Martin County 97-84 in the 2024-25 15th Region Boys’ Basketball Tournament title game. Head coach Chandler Thompson guided Lawrence County to the 2024-25 15th Region boys’ basketball title. Lawrence County compiled a 23-11 record in the 2024-25 boys’ high school basketball season, registering the most wins among 15th Region teams.
Martin County, Paintsville, Pikeville, Floyd Central, Shelby Valley, Belfry, Betsy Layne and Pike County Central are ranked behind Lawrence County in the Preseason 15th Region Boys’ Basketball Rankings.
The 15th Region Basketball Coaches Association released the preseason boys’ rankings, which feature at least one team from each of the four districts.
The 2025-26 boys’ high school basketball season tipped off on Monday, Dec. 1.
