Fetherolf leads Bulldogs to win over McCreary Central

LOUISA — Quarterback Luke Fetherolf led Lawrence County past McCreary Central 55-14 in the opening round of the KHSAA Class 3A State Football Playoffs at Luke Varney Jr. Memorial Stadium on Friday, Nov. 7.  

Lawrence County defeated McCreary Central for its 10th win in the 2025 high school football season. The Bulldogs improved to 10-1.

Lawrence County scored first and never trailed. The Bulldogs outscored McCreary Central 19-0 in the first quarter.

Lawrence County led 41-7 at halftime and remained in control throughout the second half

Through the air, Fetherolf completed each of his seven pass attempts for 365 yards and five touchdowns. On the ground, Fetherolf rushed two times for 51 yards and one touchdown.

Another quarterback, Mitchell Frazier, completed both of his pass attempts for 84 yards and two touchdowns for the Bulldogs.

Kaden Johnson led Lawrence County in receiving. Johnson reeled in three receptions for 161 yards and three touchdowns.

Following Johnson, Gray Derifield hauled in two receptions for 161 yards and two touchdowns.

Contributing to Lawrence County’s passing attack, Braxton Davis and Carlo Chicko added one touchdown pass reception apiece.

Defensively for Lawrence County, Chicko recorded a team-high 11 tackles and one tackle for a loss.

Lawrence County is scheduled to host Rockcastle County in the second round of the KHSAA Class 3A State Football Playoffs at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 14.
