LOUISA — Lawrence County High School senior guard Kensley Feltner made her college choice official on Friday, Nov. 11, signing with the Belmont University women’s basketball program.

Feltner, who was named the 2021-22 15th Region Player of the Year, is one of top girls’ high school basketball players in the state, excelling throughout her prep career.

A Kentucky Miss Basketball candidate, Feltner averaged 26.9 points and 9.2 rebounds per game for Lawrence County during the 2021-22 girls’ high school basketball season. She led Lawrence County to the 58th District title and a 15th Region runner-up finish during her junior campaign.

Earlier in the offseason, Feltner competed for the Kentucky Junior All-Stars.

Belmont University is a new member of the Missouri Valley Conference. In addition to Belmont University, the Missouri Valley Conference includes Bradley University, Drake University, the University of Evansville, Illinois State University, Indiana State University, Loyola University Chicago, Missouri State University, the University of Northern Iowa, Southern Illinois University and Valparaiso University.

Feltner and her current teammates opened preseason practice in mid-October. Lawrence County is scheduled to visit West Carter for a season opener on Tuesday, Nov. 29.
