Fairchild earns All-GMAC honor

OWENSBORO — Lawrence County High school graduate C.J. Fairchild has been named to the All-Great Midwest Athletic Conference Second Team.
The former Lawrence County High School standout standout excelled in the 2021 college baseball season.
Fairchild is a right-handed pitcher/infielder for the Kentucky Wesleyan College baseball team.
The former Bulldog posted a 6-2 mark on the mound for the Panthers as a freshman, compiling a 3.03 ERA. Fairchild's earned run average ranked second overall in the conference. He pitched 53.1 innings with two complete games. Fairchild allowed 29 runs in nine starts. He allowed 20 earned runs while recording 39 strikeouts.
In addition to Kentucky Wesleyan, the Great Midwest Athletic Conference includes Trevecca Nazarene, Walsh, Ohio Dominican, Tiffin, Hillsdale, Cedarville, Malone, Findlay, Lake Erie and Ohio Valley.
Fairchild helped Kentucky Wesleyan finished the 2021 college baseball season 24-16. The Panthers were 19-9 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.
Fairchild will carry momentum over into his sophomore campaign in 2022.
