COLUMBIA – The Lindsey Wilson College football program's 2020 signing class includes Johnson Central High School graduate Braiden Castle. A defensive tackle, Castle is preparing to compete for the Blue Raiders. Castle is a part of a talent-heavy Lindsey Wilson College signing class.  "This is a great day for the Blue Raider football program," Lindsey Wilson College Coach Chris Oliver said, shortly after announcing his team's 2020 signing class. "When we bring young men and their families onto campus and they experience our culture first-hand, this becomes a very powerful tool as they go through the recruiting process. The hard work invested by our student-athletes on and off the field over the past decade has helped to create this type of environment, and they get a lot of the credit for our signing class. "Our assistant coaches have put a lot of time and effort into this group of young men, and we're really excited about what lies ahead for this class. The future of Blue Raider football is very bright. I'd also like to thank the faculty and staff at Lindsey Wilson College who put in great work behind the scenes to help us with our recruiting efforts. I'm a firm believer that you win with people, and we're blessed with great people here at LWC." Lindsey Wilson completed the best season in the program's 10-year history in 2019. The Blue Raiders finished with a 12-1 record, reaching the program's first-ever NAIA Football Championship Series National Semifinals. The Blue Raiders ended the 2019 season ranked No. 4 in the NAIA Football Coaches' Top-25 Postseason Poll. Helping Johnson Central capture the 2019 KHSAA Class 4A state title, Castle recorded 66 total tackles, 11 tackles for losses and three sacks during his senior season.
