Bulldogs to visit Rowan County for 2023 season opener

LOUISA — Lawrence County is set to visit Rowan County for its opener in the 2023 high school football season.

The Bulldogs and Vikings did not meet in 2022.

Lawrence County is the reigning Class 3A, District 8 Champion. The Bulldogs put together an 9-3 record in 2022. Lawrence County reached the second round of the 2022 KHSAA Class 3A Playoffs.

Rowan County competes is a member of Class 4A, District 6. The Vikings finished 4-7 in the 2022 high school football season. Rowan County made an appearance in the 2022 KHSAA Class 4A Playoffs.

The Bulldogs’ 2023 schedule features games versus Rowan County, Shelby Valley, Perry County Central, Harlan County, Estill County, Belfry, Magoffin County, Powell County, Boyd County and Mason County.

High school football teams across the state are preparing to compete in season openers.

Kickoff for the Lawrence County-Rowan County football game is set for 7:30 p.m. in Morehead.
