Bulldogs receive votes in Preseason Class 3A Poll

LOUISA — Lawrence County received votes in the Courier-Journal’s Preseason Class 3A Coaches’ Poll.
The poll consists of top-ranked Paducah Tilghman (1), reigning champion Belfry (2), Christian Academy-Louisville (3), Bardstown (4), Taylor County (5), Bell County (6), Glasgow (7), Ashland (8), Elizabethtown (9) and Union County (10).
In addition to Lawrence County earning the preseason recognition, East Carter, Fleming County, Mercer County, Mason County, Rockcastle County, Russell, DeSales, Hart County, Adair County, LaRue County and Nelson County received votes for the poll.
Lawrence County, under the direction of Coach Alan Short, compiled an 8-4 record in 2021. The Bulldogs finished runner-up to Belfry in Class 3A, District 8 during the 2021 high school football season.
Lawrence County’s 2022 schedule consists of games versus Harrison County, Greenup County, Russell. Magoffin County, East Carter, Boyd County, Pike County Central, Belfry, Floyd Central and Raceland. Alan Short-coached Lawrence County is slated to visit Harrison County for its opening game in the 2022 high school football season on Friday, Aug. 19. Kickoff for the Lawrence County-Harrison County football game is set for 7:30 p.m. in Cynthiana.
