PAINTSVILLE — Determined Lawrence County outlasted Prestonsburg 1-0 in the 15th Region Boys’ Soccer Tournament title match at Coach Jim Matney Field on Thursday, Oct. 17.

Following the win, Lawrence County (10-9) advanced to the KHSAA Boys’ Soccer State Tournament.

The loss eliminated Prestonsburg (11-9) from the boys’ high school soccer postseason.

Lawrence County claimed its second straight 15th Region boys’ soccer title.

Aiden Mynhier scored a goal off an assist from Andrew Vinson early in the first half for the Bulldogs. Mynhier’s goal proved to be the difference in the region tournament title match.

Goalkeeper Ryland Brady paced Lawrence County defensively, recording a shutout. Brady delivered nine saves.

Defensively for Prestonsburg, goalkeeper Denver Stanley allowed one goal while recording six saves.
