LOUISA — Lawrence County was held scoreless as visiting Somerset prevailed 2-0 in the KHSAA Boys' Soccer State Tournament on Monday, Oct. 18.
The loss eliminated 15th Region champion Lawrence County from the KHSAA Boys' Soccer State Tournament. Lawrence County exited the 2021 boys' high school soccer season 15-3-2.
After posting the win, Somerset improved to 12-5-1 and advanced to the second round of the KHSAA Boys' Soccer State Tournament.
Andrew Tomlinson netted both of Somerset's goals in the boys' soccer state tournament match.
Contributing for the Briar Jumpers, Josh Tucker provided an assist on one of Tomlinson's two goals.
Defensively for Somerset, goalkeeper Landen Lonesky recorded a shutout. Lonesky registered 12 saves.
Goalkeeper Trenton Adkins recorded six saves for Lawrence County in the Bulldogs' season-ending loss.
Lawrence County will enter the 2022 boys' high school soccer season as the reigning 15th Region champion.
