Bulldogs drop game to Bath County

OWINGSVILLE — Bath County dealt Lawrence County its first loss in the 2022-23 boys’ high school basketball season, beating the Bulldogs 69-57 on Thursday, Dec. 1.
Following the loss, Lawrence County dropped to 1-1.
Bath County shot 47.4 percent (27-of-57) from the field. The Wildcats shot 44.4 percent (eight-of-18) from three-point range.
Bath County shot 53.8 percent (seven-of-13) from the free throw line.
Zach Otis scored 25 points and pulled down nine rebounds to lead Bath County to the win.
Accompanying Otis in double figures for the Wildcats, Montana Brashear netted 18 points.
Finishing near double figures for the Wildcats, Taylan Sorrell and Jayce Smith added eight points apiece.
Chipping in for Bath County, Braden Roussos contributed six points while Lucas Brown provided four points.
Lawrence County shot 30.6 percent (22-of-72) from the field in the setback. The Bulldogs finished seven-of-32 from three-point range.
Lawrence County connected on six-of-14 free throw attempts.
Blake Marcum scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Bulldogs.
Accompanying Marcum in double figures for Lawrence County, Andrew Bloomfield netted 12 points.
Nearly recording a double-double for the Bulldogs, Lafferty scored nine points and pulled down nine rebounds.
Aiding Lawrence County offensively, Hayden Perry contributed eight points and Logan Ratliff added four points.
