LOUISA — Lawrence County blanked visiting Belfry 6-0 in a 58th District boys’ high school soccer match at Luke Varney Jr. Memorial Stadium on Thursday, Aug. 17.

Former 15th Region champion Lawrence County hosted the first boys’ high school soccer match on its newly turfed field.

Blake Maynard led Lawrence County to the win, scoring all six goals for the Bulldogs. Maynard is among the top high school soccer players in the state.

Contributing offensively for Lawrence County in the win, Andrew Vinson distributed two assists.

Chipping in for the Bulldogs, Michael Preston, Gavin Wells and Owen Pack dished out one assist apiece.

Defensively for Lawrence County, goalkeeper Ryland Brady recorded a shutout. Brady delivered three saves for the Bulldogs.

Lawrence County notched its second straight win, improving to 2-1.

The Bulldogs are scheduled to visit the Pirates for a 58th District boys’ soccer match on Monday, Sept. 25.
