Bulldogs beat Lewis County 69-47

LOUISA — Following back-to-back losses, Lawrence County handled former 16th Region rival Lewis County, winning 69-47 on Saturday, Feb. 4.
Lawrence County shot 32.7 percent (17 of 52) from the field in the win. The Bulldogs made 12 of 26 three-point field goal attempts to shoot 46.2 percent from beyond the arc.
Lawrence County shot 74.2 percent (23 of 61) from the free-throw line.
Will Lafferty scored 22 points to lead Lawrence County to the win and made five of seven three-point field goal attempts.
Following Lafferty in double figures for the Bulldogs, Andrew Bloomfield added 11 points.
Nearly reaching double figures for Lawrence County, Kaden Gillispie scored nine points and Hayden Perry netted eight points.
The other scorers for Lawrence County were Luke Fetherholf (six points), Ethan Horn (six points), Blake Marcum (five points) and Logan Ratliff (two points).
Bloomfield paced Lawrence County inside, claiming eight rebounds for the Bulldogs.
Lewis County shot 37.3 percent (19 of 51) from the field. The Lions were limited beyond the arc, making only two of 13 three-point field goal attempts.
Lewis County managed to shoot 77.8 percent (seven of nine) from the free throw line.
Trey Gerike scored 15 points to lead the Lions. Gerike was the only Lewis County player to reach double figures in scoring.
Finishing near double figures for Lewis County, Andrew Collins scored nine points, Drew Noble netted eight points and Julian Puente posted seven points.
The other scorers for Lewis County in the boys’ high school basketball game were Colton Tackett (four points), Xavier Prater (two points) and Caden Box (two points), who grabbed a game-high nine rebounds.
