Bulldogs’ 2020 schedule altered

LOUISA — After practice being suspended for two weeks due to a positive COVID-19 test, Lawrence County's schedule for the 2020 high school football season has been altered. The Bulldogs are slated to kick off the 2020 season at Pikeville on Friday, Sept. 25. Pikeville is the reigning Class 1A state champion. The Panthers shut out Paintsville 43-0 in the 2019 Class 1A state title game to finish last season 14-0. The Bulldogs are scheduled to visit Magoffin County on Friday, Oct. 2, before taking the field for a home opener. Lawrence County is due to host Pike County Central for a home opener on Friday, Oct. 9.The Bulldogs have other away games on tap versus Floyd Central (Friday, Oct. 23) and Rowan County (Friday, Nov. 2). Lawrence County is slated to host Belfry (Friday, Oct. 16) and Raceland (Friday. Oct. 30) for additional home games. The Bulldogs are under the direction of head coach Alan Short.
