Bowen named to MEC Commissioner's Honor Roll

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Following her junior season, West Virginia Wesleyan College pitcher/first baseman Ciana Bowen has been named to the Mountain East Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.
Bowen is a Lawrence County High School graduate. A native of Louisa, Bowen is one of the 15th Region's top all-time high school softball players.
The Mountain East Conference released its All-MEC Academic Teams and the Commissioner's Honor Roll for the for all sports from this past schoolyear in June. West Virginia Wesleyan Athletics had a total of 235 student-athletes recognized.
To be a member of the All-MEC Academic Team, the student-athlete must be a member of the active roster and have a grade-point average of 3.70-4.00 in the semester of their championship season. To qualify for the Commissioner's Honor Roll, a student-athlete must be a member of the active roster and post a grade point average between 3.25-3.69 in the semester of their championship season. The MEC conducted championships in 21 sports in the spring semester of 2021.
Over 2,200 student-athletes were recognized by the MEC, including over 1,200 that earned Academic All-MEC honors (3.70 or higher) in their respective sports.
A longtime leader, Bowen has excelled both in the classroom and on the field throughout her career.
