Blevins named 15th Region Softball Player of the Year

LOUISA — Lawrence County senior pitcher Taylor Blevins has been named the 15th Region Softball Player of the Year.

Blevins earned the honor from the Kentucky Softball Coaches Association.

The senior helped lead Lawrence County to 2A - Section 8, 58th District and 15th Region championships in her final prep season.

A longtime leader, Blevins led Lawrence County throughout the 2026 high school softball season. In the circle, Blevins compiled a 20-7 record with a 1.79 ERA and 152 strikeouts.

At the plate, Blevins batted .368 with 28 hits, 23 RBIs, five doubles, two home runs and six walks.

Belfry head coach Ryan Chapman was named the 15th Region Softball Coach of the Year. Chapman guided Belfry to the 60th District title. Under Chapman’s direction, Belfry reached the semifinals of the 15th Region Softball Tournament and compiled an 18-13 record.
