West headed into redshirt sophomore season at ETSU

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. — Tight end Noah West, a Lawrence County High School graduate, is headed into his redshirt sophomore season with the East Tennessee State University football program. Among Lawrence County High School’s top all-time student-athletes, West competed in all 13 games for the Buccaneers during the 2021 college football season. West logged two starts for East Tennessee State in 2021.The Louisa native was tabbed to the 2020 Southern Conference Honor Roll. He was named to the Southern Conference All-Freshman Team. West made five starts for East Tennessee State during the 2020 college football season. A standout quarterback during his prep career, West totaled over 4,400 rushing yards and 66 career touchdowns during his high school career. West rushed for over 2,200 yards and 32 touchdowns for the Bulldogs in 2018. He rushed for 396 yards, seven touchdowns and nine 2-point conversions in a single game, ranking fourth all-time in Kentucky high school history. West earned District and Area Player of the Year honors in 2018. He finished as the Kentucky 3A rushing leader. The Lawrence County standout was a three-time all-district selection.
