W.R Castle Fire and Rescue Honors Firefighter
W.R. CASTLE FIRE and Rescue reported the passing of Firefighter, Higgus Paul (H.P.) Burchett of Stambaugh on Tuesday, Feb. 6, at the Martin County Healthcare facility.
He was the father of fire chief, Paul and grandfather of fire fighter Hunter Burchett of the department.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Waddell, two sons, Paul (Gaylena) Burchett and Sammy (Tonya) Waddell; a daughter, Angie (Matt) Stapleton; two sisters, Darla Hunt and Grace Pack; seven grandchildren; and a great grandchild.
Graveside services were Feb. 9, at Marvin Sparks Cemetery, Blaine, with Chuck Slone officiating.
Memorials can be made to W.R. Castle Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 61, Wittensville, KY 41274. Over $1,000 has already been donated in memory of H.P.
