Martin County began snow-removal efforts Friday after the white stuff began pouring over Eastern Kentucky Thursday afternoon. The National Weather Service in Jackson said snowfall rates of 1 inch or more per four were observed during a majority of the event, with between 4 to 9 inches reported throughout the region by the time the snow tapered off Thursday night.
